Masculinity = Solidity
For better models than binary heteronormativity or woo-woo talk
I’ve been listening to David Deida’s 20-year-old and dangerously named classic The Way Of The Superior Man, deep waters on whose surface I found a textured reflection of a lot of my strengths and struggles as a self.
It made it clear to me that my essence is decidedly “masculine” (more on this), comfortingly reaffirming my cis identity despite great inner diversity and my frequent longing for or leaning in toward the feminine in myself.
It’s showing me a new possible alignment to pursue, speaking to my less obvious mental muscle groups as EMS or yoga do, or the way a signal over the air can tell nanobots how to regroup.
I’m self-reflected by nature and also by nurture, meaning that I’ve already got most of my Freudian, CBT, NLP and sociology shit down. I know what toxic masculinity is and how little I want to have anything to do with it.
